Kerisha Henderson, a 43-year-old full-spectrum doula, embodies resilience, compassion, and a deep commitment to women's health and well-being. Married and a proud native of Detroit, Kerisha is not only an experienced entrepreneur, owning First Alliance Home Care in Southfield, MI for a decade, but also the passionate founder of Daughters of Rahab Doula Health & Wellness.  She holds a Bachelors of Science in Medical Case Management, reflecting her deep understanding of the healthcare system and her ability to navigate it effectively. This expertise, combined with her entrepreneurial spirit, has been a cornerstone in all of her businesses, ensuring professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate care. Kerisha's journey is marked by personal experiences that resonate deeply with the challenges and triumphs of the women she mentors. Having experienced teenage motherhood herself, along with the heartache of five pregnancy losses (one including a second trimester loss due to trisomy 22), Kerisha brings a unique perspective to her role. The various experiences of her own maternal health, have also included navigating fertility treatments, coping with the emotional complexities of abortion,  and more traumatic experiences, have the catalysts that have fueled her mission to support mothers in achieving healthy, viable births. Her story is one of overcoming adversity and using her experiences to empower others. As a mother of five girls in a blended family, she understands the joys and challenges of parenthood as well. Her journey through teenage motherhood, and the complexities of life challenges, give her a profound empathy for the women she supports.

Looking ahead, Kerisha aspires to expand her role in women's health by becoming a midwife. This goal is driven by her passion for childbirth and her desire to provide even more comprehensive care to women during one of the most significant times of their lives.  At Daughters of Rahab Doula Health & Wellness, Kerisha uses her past trauma as a powerful tool to mentor and support young teens, especially those embarking on their birth journey. Her life story, marked by both challenges and triumphs, makes her a relatable, inspiring figure for the young women she guides and supports.
